WHY THE NAME PHAROS

Pharos is the Greek word for lighthouse.  The most famous lighthouse being the Pharos of Alexandria, judged to be one of the Seven Wonders of the world. According to the Webster-Merriam online dictionary one meaning of a lighthouse is “a structure (such as a tower) with a powerful light that gives a continuous or intermittent signal to navigators”. A lighthouse is also defined as a beacon “a source of light or inspiration”. Both meanings are quite fitting for my role as a counsellor, one as like a navigation aid, the other as a source of inspiration, to help you find safe passage through difficult times.
